State Regulations and standards
  • Must immediately look up the Laser Board of Radiation website in the state. Ie CA.
  • This website will inform us on all required rules and regulations
  • Required signage –
  • Sign highlighting that a particular laser is being used.
  • Room set up and requirements.
  • No windows or completely blacked out.
  • No mirrors or have the ability to completely cover
  • They will audit the site and will look for the following items
  • Licenses of all EP’s using the laser – must me licensed to perform laser services
  • Maintenance logs
  • Safety goggle/glasses log – proof of regular turnover to maintain the integrity.
  • Binder with all laser safety protocols
  • Binder of all MSDS sheets.
  • Dr. Oversight log
  • Must have a Laser Safety officer
  • They ensure all safety procedures and protocols are being followed
  • They ensure the laser is operating properly
  • They ensure all safety equipment is maintained
  • Can be a lead Aesth., nurse, or Dr.
Injectables
  • Look up local regulations to see is able to perform the injections.
  • Aesth., nurse, or nurse practitioner.
  • Allergan – Botox
  • Short shelf life
  • Ipsen – Dysport
  • Requires more units but costs less.
  • Fillers
Inventory of all back bar items. – create very strict control processes
  • Suggested to do inventory every 2 weeks.
  • Have all injectables under lock and key.
  • Suggest using a physical count and back it up with a revenue report to treatment performed comparison.
Charting
  • When doing injectables it is required to put the products lot number sticker in guests chart.
Consent forms
  • Each equipment vendor and product vendor will have their own consent form that would be required to be filled out prior to receiving the service.
  • The vendors provide these consent forms.
  • We will get provided an example of a new guest intake form.
