Accessories

Objective

Decorative accessories provide the final touches on the interior design. The Discovery Well Being design philosophy relies on a curated, yet layered aesthetic. The accessories should reflect this concept and should be meaningful to the brand. Capitalize on the opportunity to promote retail offerings through the use of accessories.

Guidelines

Consider the following guidelines when specifying accessories.
Consider the following guidelines when specifying accessories.
  • Provide vases and pots for living or dried organics as outlined in the expanded section on organics. These will be one of the primary accessorizing features of the space. Ensure all beverage stations, desks and treatment room countertops display organics.
  • Provide presentation trays for use throughout the facility. All items presented to the guest should be served on a tray.
  • At all beverage stations ensure that containers and accoutrements are available for the following offerings: cold water, tea, and a snack of choice. Confirm offerings with a Discovery Well Being representative prior to purchasing required accessories.
  • Provide coasters for use with all guest beverages. These may be stored and as distributed as required.
  • Provide durable humidity resistant clocks at locker room locations to allow guests to monitor time spent within the facility.
  • At vanities provide durable wall or counter mounted dispensers for hand soap and hand lotion. If stainless steel inserts are used ensure that the container has a plastic or acrylic insert to prevent the products from spoiling. Products in direct contact with the stainless steel will spoil more rapidly.
  • At showers provide durable wall mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
  • If integral waste disposal drops are not built-into the millwork, provide attractive covered wastebins at all vanity and water closet locations.
  • Provide throws for use at all relaxation lounges. These do not have to be on display and may be stored in millwork and distributed on request.
  • Provide storage and display options for magazines. Ensure magazines are neatly displayed with covers facing outward.
  • At treatment rooms provide a small box, tree or vessel to store guest jewelry during treatments.
